We know that pupils learn the most when they have the opportunity to experience things for themselves. At Greensteds we take it as a matter of utmost importance to expose our students beyond the confines of a classroom to the world of own experience. Each level in our learning cycle has annual arrangements to travel far and wide, these events exclude sporting activities that are detailed else where in this site.
We have Year Six (10 yrs) all the way to Year Eleven (17yrs). It is open to the 18 year olds to act as guides.
We go for hikes every other weekend all through the year. Shark's Fin, Menengai, Longonot as well as the Soysambu have been conquered. A new addition is the "Pimple", so far, the toughest challenge.
We cycle quite a lot. Most students have a bicycle and so we give them a chance of enjoying our picturesque view from all angles.
We participate in Hog Charge in January, Ten to Four in March, Cycle with the Rhino in September and numerous other cycling events. Kunal, Eddie, Kush, Shneha and the little ones have made us proud.
We have a Greensteds Valentines on Mt Kenya every February. We are taking 16 boys and girls and the school flag up to point Lenana this year. YES WE CAN...We've been there before. We hope to go up with some parents, Mr and Mrs Cilliers, (Henry de Thierry Yr 12's parents) Mr Obath, (Lindsay Yr 12's dad) and a couple of members of staff. It is an experience no words can describe.
Please join us and register with the office before Christmas every year.
