We have started the new academic year buoyed by the success of candidates who sat exams in May and June. As an inclusive school, raising academic achievement from baseline target grades for all students is a priority. We strive to enable every student to achieve their personal academic excellence.

This is achieved through dedication, challenge and support. The key indicators of the schools’ academic success lies in the value added to a student’s minimum target grade, the number of subjects achieving 100% pass rate and in comparing ourselves with other schools or countries. At GCSE level students achieved on average +0.59 above their target grade in each exam; our average grade was B; 100% of our students gained a Grade C or above the UK average was 70%, subjects in which students gained 100% pass were English O Level, Biology, Physics, Swahili, BTEC Media and BTEC Art and Design. Our top performing students achieved the following results -Salim – 6 A; 2 A; 1 8; 1 5; Andrew – 2 A; 5 A; 1 B; 1 7; 1 5; Kimberly – 5 A; 2 B; 1 8; 1 6; Harsh – 4 A; 1 B; 1 C; 1 7, 1 5; 2 Distinction* At Advanced Level the value added was +0.32; mean UCAS point score was 115.

In England, the average number of A Levels achieved was 2.66, Greensted’s students achieved 2.68. Many subjects achieved a 100% pass rate, Biology; Chemistry; History; Maths; Music; Physics; BTEC Art and Design; BTEC Business; BTEC Media and BTEC Sport. Our top performing students achieved the following results – Charity 2A; 2A; James 2A; 1A; 1 Distinction*; Austin 2A; 1B We have analysed the results in terms of value added and grades achieved and set targets to ensure at least the same progress for exam candidates this year. There is a vibrant staff development programme into which the school and staff invest, to ensure our teachers are the best they can be so that in turn they can help students achieve their personal academic excellence.
