This term has seen the growth of innovative activities in the Early Years School. It was therefore pleasing to see a large turnout of parents during our Open Day Forum on Saturday 8th February 2020. Students were given a chance to explore different daily life skills through experiential activities with socialisation and cookery being the highlights of the day. These sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore.
Our strategic plan aims to expose our children to an array of experiential activities. Each child has had an opportunity to select a club and a musical instrument of their choice. Additionally, Greensteds has provided free recorder training for all our early year’s children. Other clubs that have been rolled out include rollerblading, cookery, ballet, horse riding and peripatetic music lessons.
Each term, the Early Years team looks forward to giving back to our community as a way of reinforcing our school Pillars, “Care, Community and Respect.” These service-learning opportunities will hopefully develop empathy and global citizenship.
Many thanks to all the Early Years parents for supporting these new initiatives.
